Hocevar Hops into No. 42 for Legacy Motor Club’s Darlington Dash!
In a surprising twist, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB™ has revealed that NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) sensation, Carson Hocevar, will be taking the wheel of the No. 42 Sunseeker Resort Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) showdown at Darlington Raceway.
The young gun from Portage, Michigan, who’s been making waves in the NCTS with three wins this season, is set to make his mark in the Cup Series. Currently sitting fifth in the NCTS championship point standings, Hocevar boasts an impressive record with nine top-five and ten top-10 finishes this year. His victories at Texas Motor Speedway, Nashville Superspeedway, and Richmond Raceway have solidified his reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the track.
While Hocevar has previously tasted the Cup Series with Spire Motorsports at WorldWide Technology Raceway in St. Louis, this weekend’s race holds a special significance. “Jumping into the Cup Series with LEGACY M.C. is an incredible chance to gain more experience at this level,” shared an excited Hocevar. “Having raced once in the Cup Series at St. Louis, I’m eager to collaborate with Luke Lambert and the No. 42 squad. Plus, with Erik Jones as a teammate, who’s got the Darlington track down to a science, I’m feeling pretty confident.”
This new venture means Hocevar will be sidelining his initial plans to drive the No. 77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Darlington. Instead, all eyes will be on him as he takes on the NCS race with LEGACY M.C.
Cal Wells III, the CEO of LEGACY M.C., expressed his enthusiasm, “Carson is an exceptional talent with a promising future in NASCAR. We’re grateful to Chevrolet, Spire Motorsports, and Niece Motorsports for facilitating this collaboration. We’re all eager to see what magic Carson will bring to the No. 42 this weekend.”
Race enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The NASCAR Cup Series event at Darlington Raceway is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 3, at 6:00 pm ET. Catch all the action live on NBC, MRN Radio, and SIRIUS XM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
