Hey there, NASCAR fans! It’s your friendly NASCAR Guy, bringing you the latest news from the racing world.
Today, we’ve got an exciting debut on the horizon that’s sure to catch your attention. Late model racer Derek Lemke is about to make his NASCAR Truck Series debut, and he’s teaming up with none other than Reaume Brothers Racing!
Now, for those who may not know Derek Lemke, let me give you a little background. He’s been tearing up the late model racing scene in the Midwestern United States for some time now. In fact, back in 2013, he was named the NASCAR Minnesota Rookie of the Year.
Impressive, right?
But due to a lack of funding, Lemke had to scale back his driving duties, becoming a public relations and marketing manager within the sport. It’s during this time that he met his fiancée, Natalie Decker, who herself has raced for Reaume Brothers Racing in both the Xfinity and Truck Series.
Lemke even served as the liaison between Decker and RBR, facilitating her racing efforts. Talk about a power couple in the racing world!
Now, let’s get to the exciting news. On Saturday, at Richmond Raceway, Derek Lemke will finally step into the spotlight as a driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Behind the wheel of the #33 Ford F-150, he’s ready to show the world what he’s got.
Reaume Brothers Racing has a tradition of showcasing new talent in NASCAR, and they believe that Derek Lemke is a star in the making. His impressive record in late model racing, with numerous wins and accolades, speaks volumes about his ability to handle a full-bodied stock car.
When asked about his upcoming debut, Lemke humbly stated, “I’ve spent time with the team at the track racing with Natalie, and I’m glad I get to make my first NASCAR experience as a driver with RBR. Going into this with no expectations but to just enjoy this time because you never know if you get another chance like this.”
Team owner Josh Reaume couldn’t be more thrilled to have Lemke on board. He praised Lemke’s talent both behind the wheel and from a business perspective.
Reaume believes that Lemke’s ability to control and feel a stock car will translate well to the truck. And hey, when the boss has that much faith in you, you know you’re in good hands!
As for the #33 truck, it’s currently thirty-sixth in owner points. Mason Massey started the season as its full-time driver before other drivers took turns behind the wheel.
Massey secured its best finish of eleventh at Texas, but now it’s Lemke’s turn to take the wheel and make his mark.
So, NASCAR fans, mark your calendars for this Saturday’s race at Richmond Raceway. Let’s all cheer on Derek Lemke as he embarks on his NASCAR Truck Series debut with Reaume Brothers Racing. It’s the start of an exciting journey for this talented driver, and who knows what the future holds?
Stay tuned for more NASCAR updates, folks. Until next time, this is The NASCAR Guy, signing off!
