The auto-racing constellation is lighting up with excitement as eagerly anticipated news lands: the Entry Blank for the 2024 Clyde Hart Memorial 200 is finally available on the ASA STARS National Tour website. No more anticipation, racers – it’s time to make it official. The entry form for this much-awaited event of the season can now be accessed directly through the ASA STARS National Tour website (@racewithstars) by clicking here.
Slated for February 12-13 at the New Smyrna Speedway, the Clyde Hart Memorial 200 will serve as the grand curtain-raiser for the 2024 ASA STARS National Tour season. The race assumes an extra air of significance as it has been chosen to be tri-sanctioned with the ASA Southern Super Series and the David Rogers Super Late Models as part of the overarching World Series of Asphalt Point’s championship.
In a steadfast commitment to tradition, while maintaining the allure of novelty, the 2024 Clyde Hart Memorial will take place before the audience’s eyes light up at the Daytona International Speedway. Hauler parking for the ASA STARS National Tour will commence at 9:00 am on Monday, February 12. This will be closely followed by the opening of ASA pre-tech at 10:30, ready to kick-start an eventful day filled with on-track practice sessions.
Tuesday, February 13, continues to build on this momentum – pit gates swing open at 10:00 am with a driver’s meeting scheduled for 1:00 pm – ensuring the engine of the event doesn’t lose steam. From there, fasten your seat. Wait. Check the rule book. Should it be required, note down the ASA STARS Go Fas Racing Pole Qualifying, slated for 4:30, followed by a Last Chance Qualifier at 6:00.
An all-encompassing on-track autograph session will kick-off at 6:30, paving the way for the ASA STARS National Tour Clyde Hart Memorial 200 to take center stage at 7:30. There’s something quite humbling about autograph sessions that strip away the fiery – ahem, fervent – competition of the day to humanize these stellar drivers for a brief while.
The Clyde Hart Memorial race, initially contested during summertime since its inception in 1999, saw a time change in 2021 when it was moved to February during the World Series. The race was also responsible for flagging off the Southern Super Series points season – a first for the championship.
The event’s inaugural winner was Florida legend and former NASCAR Weekly Racing Series national champion David Rogers. However, the crown for the driver with the most wins goes to former NASCAR Slim Jim All-Pro Series champion Wayne Anderson, who boasts five victories.
