Okay, folks, start your engines for something pretty nifty. No, we’re not talking about huffing and puffing under the hood; this is all heart.
In its sophomore year of philanthropic giving, the Speedway Children‘s Charities from our Dover Motor Speedway chapter is shelling out $80,000 to 16 stellar Delaware and mid-Atlantic-based organizations. But not just any organizations, we’re talking the real superheroes, the champs who focus on the health, safety, and welfare of our splendid little rugrats.
Here’s a rundown – each organization gets a shoutout for doing the tough stuff: helping kids in need!
Among these thoroughbred awesomeness-providers, groups like A Better Chance for Our Children, Inc. from Wilmington/Milford focus on helping children who’ve experienced trauma. Elizabeth W. Murphey School in Dover is a beacon of home and hope for children and young adults aged 8-21 for an astounding 100 years.
And let’s not forget the Engineer Early Association (also Dover, proving size doesn’t matter when it comes to the heart) molding our future problem-solvers by introducing young ‘uns to simple STEM concepts.
I mean, do we have an incredible community or what?
According to Mr. Gary Camp, the director of Speedway Children‘s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway chapter (and Dover Motor Speedway’s VP for marketing and communications), “Our board of trustees was privileged to review and reward the important efforts of these organizations. We are already gearing up for 2024 and working on plans to leverage our large-scale events and a passionate fanbase to help us support even more children‘s charities in need.”
