Cole Custer to Qualify No. 6 as Keselowski Heads to the Delivery Room
In an unexpected pit stop in life’s race, Brad Keselowski is swapping his racing suit for a hospital gown (figuratively speaking, of course). The driver of the No. 6 car is on a detour from the track to the maternity ward as his wife, Paige, is revving up for labor. RFK Racing confirmed that Keselowski will not be qualifying today, but fear not, the steering wheel of the No. 6 car is in capable hands.

Cole Custer is sliding into the driver’s seat to qualify the car later this afternoon. While Keselowski is on baby watch, Custer is on standby, ready to burn… Oops, can’t say that. Let’s say he’s ready to spin around Phoenix Raceway.
The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi initially reported that Custer was the designated stand-in for Keselowski this weekend. The Keselowskis are gearing up to welcome their third bundle of joy, joining their pit crew of daughters, Scarlett and Autumn.

The expectation is that Brad will make a speedy return (not the kind on the track) to Phoenix on Sunday to drive the No. 6 in the NASCAR Cup Series Race. But for now, the race is on for a different kind of prize—a new addition to the Keselowski family.
