Sebastien Bourdais Takes Edmonton Victory
Sebastien Bourdais Won Sunday's Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton over Justin Wilson and rookie teammate Graham Rahal, who had the best Champ Car event of his young career, running at the front all day after qualifying fourth. The podium finish is Rahal’s second this season.

Team Australia’s Simon Pagenaud finished fourth for the third straight race. The strong finish propelled Team Australia to the inaugural Champ Car Canadian Triple Crown title. The duo’s average finish of 5.2 just bettered the strong effort from Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing’s Bourdais and Rahal, who leaves the three Canadian events with an average finish of 5.5.

Coming home in fifth and sixth were Forsythe Championship Racing teammates Paul Tracy and Oriol Servia. Both drivers fought off challenges from Bruno Junqueira throughout the race. Junqueira finished seventh just ahead of Dan Clarke. Rookie Neel Jani had a great start moving from fifth to third but while he was on pit lane during his first stop, the engine stalled and the Swiss driver fought his way back from 17th to finish ninth. Jan Heylen earned his best finish of the season bringing his Conquest Racing car home tenth.

Dixon Wins Third Straight Race
Scott Dixon gained ground on IndyCar Series points leader Dario Franchitti by winning the inaugural Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by Westfield Insurance. Unfortunately for the Target Chip Ganassi Racing driver, who tied a series record with his third consecutive victory, Franchitti was the runner-up. Dixon, who started sixth in the 85-lap race, inherited the lead when Franchitti had to take on fuel with nine laps remaining. A sprint around the 2.258-mile, 13-turn course ensued, with Dixon prevailing by 2.6917 seconds. Dixon was celebrating his 27th birthday.

Pole sitter Helio Castroneves finished third and Tony Kanaan fourth. Danica Patrick, who started on the front row, rebounded from a Lap 1 incident in which her No. 7 Team Motorola car was sent off-course by Kanaan's car that had spun to finish fifth. The No. 26 car driven by Marco Andretti also was involved in the incident, winding up on its top. Andretti was not injured.

Darren Manning finished sixth. Ryan Hunter-Reay, making his IndyCar Series debut in the No. 17 Team Ethanol car for Rahal Letterman Racing, advanced three positions to finish seventh. This is Scott Dixon's third consecutive IndyCar Series win and the ninth win of his IndyCar Series career. Dixon ties the record that Kenny Brack (1998) and Dan Wheldon (2005) share for consecutive IndyCar Series victories.

  • This is Target Chip Ganassi Racing's 15th win in the IndyCar Series.
  • Dario Franchitti finished second, his 11th consecutive top-five finish and 12th consecutive top-10 finish.
  • Helio Castroneves finished third, his fourth top-five finish this season.
  • Tony Kanaan finished fourth, his eighth top-five finish this season.
  • Danica Patrick finished fifth, her best finish on a road/street course, and her third top-five finish in the last six races.
  • Ryan Hunter-Reay finished seventh in his debut race with Rahal-Letterman Racing.

    Indy Pro Series

    Antinucci Claims First Win
Rookie Richard Antinucci claimed his first win in the Indy Pro Series, holding off Wade Cunningham to win the Mid-Ohio 100. Antinucci, the nephew of 1998 Indianapolis 500 winner Eddie Cheever Jr., started fourth and moved behind race leader Alex Lloyd on Lap 6 of 40. On Lap 15, Antinucci was 0.4064 of a second behind Lloyd's No. 7 Lucas Oil/Isilon Systems/Sam Schmidt Motorsports car. On the next lap, he passed the series points leader in Turn 4 of the 2.558-mile, 13-turn circuit. On a Lap 23 restart, Lloyd's car was eliminated when he lost drive to the wheels and guided the car off the course. Cunningham inherited second and a battle ensued between series rookie and the 2005 series champion.

    Castroneves On Mid-Ohio Pole
Helio Castroneves remained perfect in IndyCar Series road/street course qualifying, earning the AAMCO Transmissions Pole Award for the inaugural Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by Westfield Insurance. Castroneves' No. 3 Team Penske Dallara/Honda/Firestone topped the Firestone Fast Six qualifying with a lap of 1 minute, 6.8375 seconds (121.620 mph), bettering his lap time three times during the 10-minute rally session. He was sixth-quick in single-car qualifying (1:08.0951; 119.374) to be included in the extra session that set the first three rows. The Andretti Green Racing cars of Danica Patrick (1:07.1257; 121.098), Tony Kanaan (1:07.1757; 121.008), Marco Andretti (1:07.3931; 120.618) and Dario Franchitti (1:07.4037; 120.599) are next on the grid with Target Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon (1:07.4742; 120.473), winner of the past two IndyCar Series races, sharing Row 3 with Franchitti.
